Count Cosmic is a title sequence for a vampire fantasy horror series concept based off of a scene written, directed, and produced by Australian Film Director, Lawerence Greene. The title sequence uses metaphor and symbolism to introduce themes of prey vs predator, while eluding to the origins of the vampire race in a three act structure. Design strategy incudes four key methods: [1] Integrate close-up shots of Davina, inverted and played in reverse, to convey her defiance of the natural world. [2] Significantly distort these clips to evoke a sense of disquiet, intensifying the fear Seraphine harbors towards Davina. [3] Utilize minimal graphical elements to depict celestial time progression, illustrating the longevity of Davina's existence. [4] Highlight her evolution into a vampire by emphasizing changes to her canine teeth.
T H E S T O R Y
Traatimox, the galaxy’s most famous pleasure palace, is host to its most terrible terror - the ancient Davina (Tiana Varcoe), vampire of the stars, stalks the halls, and its inhabitants flee for their lives. When young Seraphine (Jessamy Tredinnick) finds herself locked on the wrong side of a door, left for dead by her friends, she must convince the ravenous creature she is more valuable as a companion than as a meal.
